Does anyone actively maintain an index to Model A technical articles?
I'm curious. Does anyone actively maintain an index to Model A technical articles that have been written? For example, does something along these lines exist?

A wealth of information exists about the Model A, but it would be great to find a way to search for it across available resources. |

Re: Does anyone actively maintain an index to Model A technical articles?
By the way, I'm thinking mostly about technical (fix it, repair it, restore it) information. I'm not as much interested in touring information or fashion information. (Oops!, don't tell my wife I said I'm not that interested in the fashion articles.) ;-)
By the way, I do enjoy reading about touring and fashion, I just don't think everyone shares my interest in those, and creating an index for those might not be worth the time involved. Just a thought... |

Re: Does anyone actively maintain an index to Model A technical articles?
What you're asking for is called a periodical index. These require a ton of work and are usually sold to libraries and other places that will pay the high prices required to justify it. Beyond the legwork, the compiler has the upfront cost of subscribing to or acquiring all the periodicals to be indexed. I'm not aware of a periodical index for the Model A. If you wanted to make one, though, there are institutions/museums that have most or all of the relevant periodicals on hand for you to catalog.
This index covers the Restorer, the News, and the Times from about 1968-2019. However, the descriptive lines are quite short, probably doesn't meet your expectation for helping you narrow down the search field. Last edited by alexiskai; 12-29-2020 at 04:39 PM. |

Somewhat, for Tom Endy and online resources, but as far as I can tell, Restorer articles and such are not online. Otherwise, folks on this forum would likely reply to questions with a URL, instead of saying something along the lines of “there was a really good article about ‘xyz’ in the September issue of the ‘abc’ magazine.” Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

The H.A.M.B. <jalopyjourrnal.com> maintains a monthly forum for four-bangers as a special interest group, updated every month. Called the Monthly Banger Meets, it opens with a listing of known sources for that information.

Are the Model A Times and Skinned Knuckles magazines still in production?
(I tried contacting the Model A Times a while back and haven’t received a response.) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Last edited by shew01; 12-29-2020 at 05:35 PM. |

Steve Plucker probably has the best indexes of Model "A" media on the planet.

"Technically Speaking" is a set of 14 volumes of tech articles put out by The Model A Restorers Club. They are a compilation of articles originally published in the Model A News.
They are a wonder source of information and now on sale for $100 for all 14 volumes from the MARC office. |

The index is under the Resources tab, then Technical Information, then MARC Publications and Indexes. I cannot seem to get a direct link to work. Todd |
