Hello Everyone. This Is My First Post On The Barn
Hello everyone-
This is my first post here on The Barn and I wanted to introduce myself. My name is Alex and I'm in Huntington Beach California. I've owned several vintage cars in my lifetime, including seven prewar cars/trucks. All my vintage cars/trucks were used as daily drivers...that was the idea anyway . I've restored some cars in the past, but about 15 years ago I was converted to the 'leave it original' philosophy. I recently purchased a 1931 closed cab pickup. The truck is, for the most part, original and untouched. It sat in a body shop from the early sixties until last year. The previous owner did some work to get it running and he replaced the roof fabric. I've been working on the truck for a couple of months now to assure that it's reliable and safe. My plans for the truck are to 'maintain a state of arrested decay', but also to return some things back to Ford's original layout (the interior upholstery for example, which was redone in vinyl around 1960). Below are some photos of the truck. I also added more photos of the truck in an album I created on this site. A second album shows my original Dodge Brothers roadster that I had a few years ago. I have been following The Barn for a couple of weeks now and it's a great site filled with helpful people. Thank you for allowing me to join!

I am posting smaller copies of your photos, as the ones you posted really need to be downsized. They take up my entire screen and then some in viewing them. Hope you don't mind. Again, nice pickup and welcome to fordbarn. |

Welcome, and I like your plan to keep it original.
I also see you know the correct way to hook the tailgate chain. Some older guy showed me that many years ago, and I try to pass it on when I see them hooked wrong. |

Neat truck! I liked your album with the '25 roadster, as I have a '25 DB touring car.

I think we all have a case of truck envy, me included. I want one just like that, too.

Re: Hello Everyone. This Is My First Post On The Barn
That is a perfect example of what I really want. Probably will not find one like that for quite a while. So I will wait. Or do without. I really like it. I am glad you have lurked on the FB for a while, because you already know what a blessing this is. I would have been lost without the FB and I would not have been able to fully enjoy my "A".

A big 'Thank You' to everyone for your kind words!
Sorry about the photos being so large. I didn't realize that would happen. Next time I'll shoot the photos in lower resolution. I look forward to asking a few questions from The Barn experts...but that's for another day. Alex

That trailer hitch is on my list of upcoming questions. I'll add more photos of the hitch in a separate post soon. Thanks for your comment!
