Default 47 Dash knob questions

I don't have a 47 Ford and am asking this question for a friend.
How do you remove the 47 headlight switch knob and the choke and throttle knobs.
Thanks for any and all answers.

Here are the instructions with illustration.
I ended up crushing the old knob off of its shaft so that I could unscrew the bezel holding the switch in place, dropped the switch down hanging on its wires to get the old knob shaft off as instructed, then reinstalled the switch and installed the new knob as instructed.

Here's a big picture of the switch showing the slot referred to in the instructions so he knows what he's dealing with blindly.

Oops, I forgot the rest of your question about the choke and throttle knobs.
I have not replaced the knobs alone, I replaced the whole cable system that came with the knobs. But, from what others have done, they crush the old knobs off of the shafts, heat the shafts and push the new knobs on so that they "melt" onto the shaft. If you try that let us know how it works. I've still got to do my defrost and air knobs that way.
