Default No spark..makes..no reason?? 35 v-8

Hi gang, I am flabbergasted..I have new wires, new skip coil and dist..new setof champions but cannot get spark..
-I tested coil, full 6 vlts applied, and when dragging the "pigtail coil" to ground get a weak arc from carbon..
-Test light and power to dist..indicates point operation off/on /off /on..
-caps seated nicely, flush in housing..
-carbon new and clean..
-Piggy tail spring not grounding on case or retaining ring..I gonna have skip recheck my coil?? but he has done v-12 coils for me with awesome results..
I dont have a heier machine..just ohm meter and test lite..

Zeffer

If you don't have a dwell meter re-check the point opening gap with a feeler gauge.

I hope this helps Kojack

My suggestion is to send the complete to Skip and have him set it up and test it on his machine. Works for me ! I carry a complete set up on trips.

Not that familiar with the '35. Did you check the condenser? Just because things are new does not = good. I had the same problem and it was a 'new condenser'. Took one of one of my grease covered spare engines and it worked.

Condenser?

Good place to start, but not simply if it's good or bad.

It must be grounded to the engine. The '35 is a bear to get to all the distributor bolts. If you do not get the upper passenger side bolt tight and establish a good ground for the condenser attachment, you may not get a spark.

New paint on the block ... a little clear on the distributor housing ... loose bolt ...

Easy things first.
