Default 31 radiator replacement

I have a leaky radiator and decided to get a new one from Snyder's. It does not fit. The bottom brackets do not line up with the two bolt holes in the frame due to interference from the splash apron. See pics. Joe at Snyder's has been trying to help and will take it back if we cannot find a solution. Has anyone ever had this problem? We did all kinds of measuring and what I believe to be the original is a little narrower and doesn't hit the splash apron.

Don't tell me this. I have a new radiator from Snyders in my garage waiting to be installed in my '31 CCPU.
Good luck.
P.S. I'm from Killeen but live in Delaware now.

You may want to call Brassworks in Calif. or Bergs and ask to provide the radiator width at that point and other dim's as necessary to compare. We installed a new Brassworks (basic model) which fit well and especially at the '31 radiator shell holes to radiator brackets holes. You may need also to get a slight amount of lateral adjustment at the frame holes for the hood / shell alignment. Suggest testing the shell to upper tank fit and the radiator cap to neck which has been a problem with some folks. The repro cap with the straight tangs wouldn't lock but the one with the curved tangs did with a little vaseline on the gasket.

Can you at all grind the feet width a bit to be able to fit. This is the first I have heard of a syndics not fitting...

I had all of the same problems with our 1931 Model A. It is a Mac's Auto Parts radiator.... Finally getting the radiator to fit between the frame and front fenders, wow, then came the radiator cap's neck. The neck was located about a half inch too far to the rear. And the four little arms mounted on the radiator that the radiator shell screws to, they were about 5/8" too short for the screw holes to line up. I worked way too long on the radiator to finally get things to fit. That is the last radiator that I will buy from them.

I installed one of Snyders HD radiators on WoodyCab last week. Fit like a glove with no problems. Thank you Snyders.

I am sending it back to Snyder's for a refund. They were very helpful and we agreed. it just doesn't fit. I discovered a local radiator shop and they said they could repair.

Update! Shop started to fix a few leaks and then others kept popping up. Ordered a new BrassWorks radiator from Bert's.

Have had problems with current brassworks 30-31 filler neck not correctly formed. Makes it difficult to get a radiator cap on

RonC, see post 3. Got a repro cap off ebay with the curved / rounded tangs which are part of the cap center piece, not added on, which was a snug fit on the new Brassworks..Looks like orig. Stant I believe.
