I need the paint code for Bill Hirsch’s ‘41/42-48 blue engine enamel so I can get some color matched paint mixed up. Can’t seem to get any one on phone @ Bill Hirsch sales. Thanks.

Hmmm. So you're having problems getting a paint formula from the original supplier so you can get it someplace else.

I wonder why that is?

I’ve only tried calling them today a few times and only get voicemail after being on hold for 15 mins. I’ll keep trying or hopefully they will return my call.

The paint plant got burned down. That’s why you can’t get anyone on the phone.

Forgot to post an update; I did call them the following Monday and they did answer but whomever answered the phone said they don’t have a paint code to share. It is a proprietary formula cooked up by their chemist and they just have the paint on the shelves to sell. I said well how does the chemist know how to mix the same color(s) over and over again without a paint code? Don’t really remember their response but my local NAPA store put the remainder of my paint from my leftover quart in a spray can for $11. I sprayed it on a spare wheel and I am still deciding if I like it. If I decide I like it,I can buy a few $15 cans of engine enamel which would be cheaper than a quart from Hirsch ($40) plus $11 per for NAPA to put in spray cans.

Why do you expect a supplier like Hirsch to tell you their formulas so you can go to some one else to get the product your looking for ?????

Didn’t want their formula for the actual ingredients but just the pigment details to color match my wheels to engine block. If there was such a thing. My local NAPA paint guy wasn’t comfortable trying guess even after scanning a paint sample. Nevertheless, leaning towards not painting the wheels blue.
