1CM Camshaft
I posted earlier requesting a picture of a 1CM "crankshaft" when I meant to say "camshaft".
Let me try this again, does anyone have picture of a 1CM camshaft? Thank you. |

Re: 1CM Camshaft
Visually you will not see any difference from an EAB to a 1CM cam.

Re: 1CM Camshaft
IIRC the one in my jalopy had EAB cast right on the blank. Only one I've had though

Re: 1CM Camshaft
Attached are pictures of two 8CM Merc cams I recently sold. Specs for the '49-'51 cams are .338"/.333" int./exh.

Re: 1CM Camshaft
I have pictures of the 8BA and EAA that came out of the old block and the new block. When I assembled the new block, after the machine work was finished, I used 1CM cam, but lost the pictures of it when my computer crashed.

Re: 1CM Camshaft
What’s a smiley cam?
What is the prerequisite for regrinding a 59 AB cam. I would like the specs of a late Mercury cam, or a bit better. Going in early block with a merc crank, basically stock. I have a few prewar and 40s cams. How does a reground cam affect the drive train? Do you need to have longer valves or are the adjustable lifters enough to adjust the valves? And lastly, what does it cost? Thanks |

Re: 1CM Camshaft
If you take a stock 8RT cam, and regrind it, wouldn’t you have lower lift than the stock 8RT? Or are the lobes built up prior to the regrind?

Re: 1CM Camshaft
No you have way more lift. Stock just over.300”L100 right at.370. Base circle is slightly smaller.
Lobes are not build up. This is a standard regrinding procedure Last edited by KiWinUS; 03-31-2023 at 06:09 AM. |
