Default Rear bumper arms

Are the rear bumper arms on a 30 any special metal? Like maybe spring steel? Is it possible to drill?
Thanks
Dick

Yes, ...and No. You can drill them with a carbide end mill however I have found they are extremely hard.

I’ve always milled them.
Twist bits don’t work on them for me
