Leather Steering Wheel Wrap
Does anybody know where to get high quality leather steering wheel wraps? I looked around at the parts stores and found only crappy quality leather.

Re: Leather Steering Wheel Wrap
I had the same problem.I couldn't find good quality material or the right color,so I made my own.It was pretty easy. All you need is a sewing machine, thread, material, punch, cord for lacing and a few beers.

Re: Leather Steering Wheel Wrap
Google "leather steering wheel cover" and you will find several suppliers. They make them for big trucks and most will fit the stock early Ford steering wheel.

Re: Leather Steering Wheel Wrap
If you check your Hemmings, you will find a fellow in the Portland, Oregon. area that does just that. I have seen his ads in Hemmings and maybe in Street Rodder also.

Re: Leather Steering Wheel Wrap
Check the previous post on steering wheel covers and check the site for Wheelskins. I think that is what you need.

Re: Leather Steering Wheel Wrap
Go to Wheelskins. They will make up any size you need. I had one made up for my 54 Ford and it fit perfect. You provide the dimensions.

Re: Leather Steering Wheel Wrap
Yeah i checked out wheelskins. i like that company, my friend bought a wrap from them and it looked and felt pretty good... but when it comes to wheel wraps, I'm a bit picky. ha ha i love the look and feel of the one in this thread https://fordbarn.com/forum/showthread.php?t=78257 (post 7) my dad had an old Chrysler van with wrap just like those. so I'm on the search for something almost exactly like that. But thanks everybody for your input! Much appreciated!!

Re: Leather Steering Wheel Wrap
Hey '49......
I bought the Wheelskin kit for my '40 and wrapped the wheel yesterday. Very good quality and took about an hour to do. Really looks and feels good. Mike |
