Default hood adjust on 53 ford customline?

i have this problem of the hood hitting the cowl at center of hood every time i open it. its fukin up my paint. i cant figure out how to adjust it so it wont hit? any answers out there for this problem?

Get your hands on this:http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1952-...#ht_1149wt_939 It will pay for itself over and over,probably the best money you'll ever spend on your '53.I bought one and you will be surprised how much info is in there,adjustments on everything are covered. Also have you replaced the rubber bumpers along the hood? there is one at each back corner plus the side and front ones.

yes i have replaced the rubbers. i notice some bolts running along the side of the hood near the hinges. i wonder if they would slide the hood forword? i only need a hair.
