I've got a Winfield SU-1A cam in my engine with hollow adjustables and 55 lb seat pressure. Back in my younger days, I would spin the engine to 5000 rpm. No perceived problems, but I didn't spend much time at 5000 rpm either.

For whatever it is worth here is my experience with an L100 in my 276 with 3- 97's. I like the acceleration thru the gears, but if the RPM's go below 2000 the engine will buck. I don't go over 4000 because I like to be able to drive home. A T5 manual shifter is a nice tranny for this combination.
