Default Fan Installation Question

I will soon be installing my Snyder's 2 Blade Fan on my water pump. Do I need to apply a thin film of grease on the inside of the fan hub beforehand? I don't think I would but want to be sure. Thanks.

Use an anti seize. Trial fit the fan to make sure it does not wobble on the shaft first. The tapers must match. You can use some blueing to test the fit if in doubt.

Minor interference between the inner fan hub surface and the water pump snout is not unusual. Little bit of filing will fix the problem should you encounter it.

they don't seam to be 100 % but they work ok.
i find they sit a bit proud on the tapered shaft which means the nut won't allow the cotter pin unless the nut is dressed down or the blade mount is modified or the hub is lapped down lower on the shaft. (depending on belt alignment)
also they seem to have a bit of runout on the pully. i don't know if that is in the taper of the mortis or in the machining of the pully, but i find it minimal and live with it.

In some cases the water pump casting will need ground down for fan pulley clearance, the original fan and pulley was a stamped assembly, the repro are a casting so they are thicker than original. I had to grind front sides of my repro pump for clearance to repro fan and pulley. It works but with repro parts always seems to be rework , but at least parts are available.
