Default 53 Merc electric fuel pump

I am installing a electric fuel pump on a 53 merc hd tp. Where is the best place for the pump to go and also where would the regulator go. There is not a lot of room under the hood for the regulator. If someone has intalled a pump on this car I would appreciate the help. Thank s Walter123

Mount the pump by the gas tank, as low as you can. The regulator can be mounted on the firewall wherever it is convenient. If you are using both the electric pump and the mechanical pump, it should be between the last pump and the carb.
