A member of that church is one of our club members, and at our meeting last week he mentioned all the cars are for sale.

Re: He who dies with the most toys.....
Maybe the church should group them by marque and by decade and sell them that way?

Re: He who dies with the most toys.....
I'll put my order in now for a Hubley 1930 ford Town sedan. A 59 Edsel convertible, but it must be painted white with a turquois stripe down the side, A 59 TR3 or a 68 spitfire painted BRG. Oh the confusion! Too many to choose! A 46 Merc Convertible! They keep coming to me out of the fog! Dare I say it? A 47 Crosely, It was a fun car, I used to drive on the sidewalks in my mispent youth! Gotta go now before any more come to mind.

Too bad the collect of models will be sold off... The church should donate it to a museum as a whole.. They'll get plenty of money selling off his house and real cars...

A great collection. I am glad he was able to enjoy it for all those years. What is sad is that like with most collections when the person dies the collection is sold and spread all over the country. I guess the only good part is that it will now bring joy to thousands.

I guess the way to think about the things you have collected is that you are the present caretaker for these items. Hopefully, in the future, there will be other caretakers who value these items the same as you do. |

Re: He who dies with the most toys.....
Well stated Kev!! Recently while on a car tour, we had the pleasure of frequenting this man's 'toys'. While this gentleman is still alive and well, I feel he is well on his way to at least getting an 'Honorable Mention' for his collection. A 60x100 hanger behind his home with an enclosed aero restoration shop (40x40??) in the back of the hanger, and a complete mezzanine mancave on top of the resto shop. My son & I were sure impressed!!
Does anyone want to do a rough 'armchair appraisal' on this "fleet"?? . |

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
Never thought about a lift for an airplane. Like they say, it sucks to be wealthy. I am sure willing to learn how miserable it is to live that way. |

Re: He who dies with the most toys.....
He certainly has it all, Planes, Trains, & Automobiles. (I guess that's a train over there on the right side of the hangar. Looks too long to be just an RV)
