Default Horn Repair

Good Morning, All -

The lead wires are all frayed on the horn of my '39 pickup. Single horn setup.

I wanted to remove the cover and solder some new leads on, but I can't get the cover off.

I removed that screw at the center of the dome and put PB Blaster around the seam where the dome sets in the unit.

I didn't want to pry or hit too hard before I got advice from you guys.

What do you recommend?

My car had the dual horns. The screw is the only thing that held the dome on. I would lightly pry where the mousehole is for the wire exit. I agree, PB blaster should help. Maybe tap the area where the dome and saucer meet with a rubber hammer after you use the PB.

You might try heating it. A heat gun or hot water could get it started.
