Default Front Spring question!!

I know in the rear end the numbers of leaves change with some bodies like a roadster en the rear have 7 leaves but my question came because i´m building a speedster, the body in aluminium, the weight may be is minor than a roadster, may be 1800 kg or less, But the real question is in the front: saw in the web a guy he took out 3 leaves of the front for lowered. Its that good for the car? The weight of the engine is the same in all types of bodies and i think all models A came with 10 leaves in the front!!
