Default 8BA and 59A Dipsticks

Will an 8BA dipstick work in a 59A flathead? Thanks, David

Not real well. You can use any stick that will fit but it would have to be remarked for quantity. There are 4 or 5 different sticks just in the 8BA family of engines alone. It's all about the oil pan.

I use 1/2" tubing with 1/2 NF threads on one end. Make this longer and bebt for better excess. Then use a junkyard dipstick cut to the proper length and marked for your oil level.
