The other cars shown are the 1939 Lincoln Continental prototype (right rear), a 1934 Brewster Town Car (left) and in the background left, Eleanor Fords's custom 1952 Lincoln Town Car Limousine.

Was the 24 stud engine some prototype, since they didn't come out until 1937? Also looks to have a 42 (crab) distributor.

Kind of sacrilege to not have its original powertrain given the setting.

That car was purchased by Bill Warner just south of here about an hours drive in Deland FL. One of our good friends told us he remembers that car showing up at the annual Ormond Beach FL AACA show at Thanksgiving back in the early 60's (62/63) with an asking price of $ 1750.00. and NO takers!! We also had a friend who was a Greyhound bus driver who drove the route from here in Jax to Orlando and back, he remembered seeing the car for sale down in Deland when it was rolled out of the garage for sale, passing through driving his bus, never went back to see it!!!

It could have been worse, they might have fitted Peterbilt headlights on it.

That thing shouldn't be on display on Ford property in that form.

We are getting a few negative comments here, I kind of like the custom front end. It reminds me of the front drive Cord autos. Keep it light, guys, Edsel was kind of a stylist/ trend-setter.

I am a big fan of the speedster. Front end change and all. I'm sure it would never pass the safety standards of today but if Ford could replicate that car with modern day safety standards it would be a huge seller in my opinion.
