Briggs Body Number
Just starting to tear down the old fordor. The Briggs tag reads 197-5548. I always thought that the first number is the body style. Of course none of my books show 197. To me the car appears to be a 170 standard. Any thoughts on this ?

Re: Briggs Body Number
The first three numbers are the BRIGGS body style number. The FORD body style will be different. Just to confuse us...

Re: Briggs Body Number
Briggs factory numbers for the bodies was a different series from the Ford number series for the complete car.
there's a table relating these numbers on fordgarage https://www.fordgarage.com/pages/US2831bodystyles.htm |
