Question Briggs Body Number

Just starting to tear down the old fordor. The Briggs tag reads 197-5548. I always thought that the first number is the body style. Of course none of my books show 197. To me the car appears to be a 170 standard. Any thoughts on this ?

The first three numbers are the BRIGGS body style number. The FORD body style will be different. Just to confuse us...

Thanks Y and Eystein. That solves it. At least I was right on the 170 part.
