Bill Holterman at Built Rite Engines in Addison might be able to help. His dad George Holterman had/has a shop in Elburn rebuilding and restoring these old cars.

Bill has done machine work for me on a bunch of 289, 302, 351, 390, 428 engines. I'm pretty sure he has experience with the flattys as well.

I'm referring to Von Essers ,the well known Chicago Hot Rod shop from the 50's and 60's.

"Motor Service" in Harvard is a full engine rebuilding shop, they ground my 59a crank a few years ago. They are even located in a twenties era Ford dealership building.

Bob Sweeny of FX Engines in Mokena IL. (708) 479-9384, did the machine work and partial assembly on my 8BA. Mokena a SW suburb of Chicago. He specializes in vintage engines and drag race. He is very good at what he does but isn't fast and not cheep.
