I had a vacuum over mechanical advance Mallory SBC dual point converted by "CharleyNY". It's a real nice unit and he turned it around quickly.

Lenny,
A personal observation: Don't compromise. Wait till Jan 1 if that's what it takes to get one of Jim's distributors...

There is no "compromise" for me. Charlie's distributor (as well as his advice and service) has been excellent IMO.

I am fortunate to have the best of both worlds - a distributor built by Charlie and the advance curve modified by Jim. It has worked flawlessly since day one. Both are great guys and excellent craftsmen.

No disrespect for Charlie here. I know he does a great job. I have had only personal experience with Jim and his products and find both to be uncompromising.

I believe you also need to say whether your timing cover is made for the 0BA distributor with the lower support bushing.

There are others here that can build you the Chevrolet conversion distributor. CharlieNY for example.
