Default Tudor top tribulations

Installing wood top kit, side rails are in but the center metal crosspiece does not want to fit in the same holes. Is the solution to deepen the notch in the side rails until the arch will fit into the original holes??
Also I need the top corner angle brackets left and right as well as the tack strip which curves around the corner. See photo for the brackets. Vern

I just replaced the top wood in my 31 Tudor. The metal cross piece was pretty tight when I put it in place. I had to tap it in place with a mallet.

I just replaced mine also and it was tight to the point that it bowed up after tapping into place. This caused the contour to be too high in the center, I was able to trim the wood down to about 1/8" above the channel in the middle third and regain the proper for/aft and side to side contour.
