Re: The rarest Ford hubcap in existence
Thanks for all the replies. I had always thought these were very rare. However I am considering letting this pair go. They really belong with a serious collector or in a museum because of their historical significance. Any opinions on what fair market value would be ?

Re: The rarest Ford hubcap in existence
I realise this is an old post, but would you part with any of the V8 or ford lettered one ton caps?

Re: The rarest Ford hubcap in existence
Sheldon,
Please share with us the very unique wheel that these caps were used with. There used to be a new Ford of France 1935 model sedan sent as a gift to Henry Ford by the Ford of France dealers in the museum at the Henry Ford, but it and a lot of other important artifacts got auctioned off for pennies forty-some years ago when the museum was hard up of funding. |

Re: The rarest Ford hubcap in existence
Fibber Mcgee's photo is of a Ford Taurus, not of a Ford Tempo.

The rarest Ford hubcap in existence
“ The rarest Ford hubcap in existence “ ….
was removed from a 1904-1905 Ford Model B that was purchased by The Henry Ford by the Seller in New Hampshire after the car was sold but before it was picked up. The Seller was one William “ Roob “ or “ Rood “ who lived around Nashua, New Hampshire. This hubcap was recently re-gifted to a young man in New Hampshire who works in the automotive trade. The gentleman who gave it to him thought it was a Model T hubcap. He knew William Roob or Rood growing up. He recently found the photo above and gifted that to him as well. Re: The rarest Ford hubcap in existence
Here is the wheel David asked for and an original French '35 Ford ad which shows an artist rendering of a '35 3W and a hand holding a pencil with V8 at the tip.Notice the spare-its the Artillery wheel.Look closely and you can see the lip that the hubcap lips over. Translated from French "Vitesse s'ecrit avec".the expression:
