Front windsheild safety film
I was just curious if there was anyone who had experience with windshield film similar to the one linked below? It seems to me with the proximity of the front seat to the windshield in our A's that an inner layer of film might would be prudent in an accident with respect to sharding. Did it help with fogging and or glare and was it very noticeable? Any thoughts or experiences are welcome.

Re: Front windsheild safety film
Your windshield should already be safety glass.

Re: Front windsheild safety film
Thank you Bob, you are correct, I believe that there is a inner layer sandwiched between two layers of glass.
I should have been clearer in my question. I am talking about a layer on the inside of the vehicle.

Re: Front windsheild safety film
If your original plate glass has not been replaced it should be replaced with safety glass.

Four years later In 1966 I hit the rear of a 56 Plymouth that was stopped for a left turn at 45 MPH. The seat belt kept me out of the windshield and it was not cracked or broken. Twelve years later I decided to replace the windshield as it was rattling in the frame. Guess what? ... The glass was common single strength window PLATE GLASS! Someone in the past did not want to pay for Safety glass and used window glass instead. Do not assume that the windshield in your car is Safety glass. Last edited by Benson; 06-18-2015 at 03:29 PM. |
