There are some very minor differences, but the '35 to '40 frames are basically the same.

Check with your DMV, there may be title problems.

May be best not to open a can of worms.
Which title do you have? is it titled as the 39 frame or titled as the 35 pickup?
If you have the 38 title use it and you will have no problems.

The pickup sheetmetal won't have any VIN on it but the 39 frame should. I say 'should' because my 38 frame doesn't have numbers. Of the three places they should be 1) by the steering gearbox was welded over and ground smooth 2) and 3) along the frame under the body there is pitting but no numbers available. So I'm basically working with what could be called a homemade frame (no mfr's numbers).

If it's a car frame you will have to remove the rectangle body mounts on the sides of the frame. They are rivited on and come off pretty easy. The truck body mounts on wood that sits the cab on the chassis. You have to have the wood for your year truck. The frame will otherwise be the same.
