Anthony, I installed the bushings dry using a bushing driver set and a small ballpeen hammer. The press is not very heavy on them and they drive in easily by hand, just make sure you line up the holes in the bushings with the grease fitting holes in the spindle.

A good sized hammer along with bushing driver that usually comes with kingpin reamers does a good job of removing the old bushings and installing the new.

While I've been using reamers for fifty odd years; GB's dowel method looks to be a way to do it at home without being dependent on a special tool or the whims of a machine shop.

GB has class; I don't. I would have cut the bowl off the spoon as a matter of course and nobody would have cared what I did or not.

Leaving the bowl on the spoon is what legends are made of.
