Default Hardened Valve Seats

When did Ford engines start coming from the factory with hardened valve seats? Is there any difference between a valve seat and a hardened valve seat? Did the Model B "diamond" engines have hardened valve seats?

We install hardened seats in all our rebuilds. Most blocks have been rebuilt more than once, and there isn't enough original material left for a simple dressing of the seats.

Ive seen a couple of factory relived engines, with Exhaust hardened seats.
