Battery Hydrometer or Battery Specific Gravity Tester.

Many a lazy electrician has been fooled by testing fuses in the holders! remove the fuse a test. Cartridge fuses are the worst, pull the fuses and check for continuity !

I just reread the charger instructions and discovered I made a dumb mistake. They say to attach the cable to the battery and then plug in the charger. I did the opposite. Re-read the directions and did it right. They battery charges fine now. But, I discovered a new potential issue. My car has an alternator. I have a feeling that may be another problem. I'm thinking about swapping it out for a generator. As far as I know, all Model A's were originally built with a generator. But, I know people do the opposite and install an alternator. So, which works best?

I have bad luck with batteries after adding a bit of distilled water.
