cas....What the hell do I know? According to what Fred A and Kubarth wrote, I've gotten the breather locations backwards, and I apologize to everyone for that. I promise that this WILL NOT be the last time I screw stuff up! SO....BREATHER HOLE in bellhousing means '37-'39! Blank bellhousing (NO BREATHER HOLE) means 1940! Coop Fred A's 1940-ONLY Intake, BELOW! |

Re: 60HP intake(s) ??
Not usually one to complain, but we have conflicting info here. So, 40 only, breaths out the intake, all others out the hole in the block, correct? Also, wasn't there something about 40 cranks having bigger bearings? I saved a 4x4 crate full of 60 stuff from a friend who was moving and going to scrap it all. He built a 60 motorcycle from scratch, not one of the H Charlie kits, very nice, this guy has lots of talent. I remember him saying one in the pile is a 40, and therefor the more desirable engine to build. I don't recall why. Anyone need a crate full of 60's?

Re: 60HP intake(s) ??
The breather tube/oil fill tube depicted in this photo appears to be perfectly straight where in actuality it has a slight bend in it near the bottom of the tube. The bend is toward the front of the engine, maybe a 35-40 degree bend., My 2¢.

Re: 60HP intake(s) ??
The angle might be a little more appreciable if you would flip your diagram around where the lean would be in the same direction. Looks like my WAG was pretty close. But then again, we (or us, depending on where you are from) Attorneys always look at things from different angles don'tcha know.
