The 1949-52 Mercury Chassis Parts Catalog on page 254 shows the following info:
8L-14486 Switch and wiring (turn signal) for model 9M 1949
0L-14486 Switch and wiring (turn signal) for model 0M 1950
1M-14486-A Switch and wiring (turn signal) for model 1M and MA 1951 and 1952

ALSO, the directional switch and parts is shown on page 274 here:
https://www.lincolnoldparts.com/pdf/...ssis-Parts.pdf

Hope this helps. Noone is reproducing the mercury switches but someone must have a good used one.

I’m looking for the same thing but for my 1951 Meteor or Ford. Good luck in your search! Ted

I wonder if the Dennis Carpenter switch could be modified to work. The switch itself looks similar.

I bet it would fit as I doubt Henry Ford would make a different design for both switches.

The late replacements for the 1M or MA part number has plastic covered wires. I found an NOS one on flea-pay so they do show up now and then. The originals are relatively easy to clean and I've replaced the wire leads on them several times but some of the modern replacement cloth covered wires don't fit well through the channel in the steering column so a person may have to get creative if they want it to look original.
