Re: Vacuum plug
Close but NO brass ring. Its 7/16 X 20 and must be used with a fiber or copper sealing washer. Its the same size as a Stromberg inlet thread. I have the proper fitting but hate to modifiy them for plugging purpouses. ken ct. There too hard to find, ken ct 1-203-360-5945. cell.

Re: Vacuum plug
Wow Ken, the thought did cross my mind but I put the vacuum line in without washers when I installed the correct aluminum manifold on my 36. Sorry about your torture session at rehab yesterday. No pain, no gain!!

Re: Vacuum plug
Check a hardware store for a 3/8-24 allen or slotted setscrew. If you can't fine one, I have the fitting you can plug.

Re: Vacuum plug
Ken, Ace Hardware has quite a selection of setscrews. I thought perhaps a 3/8-24 would be one of them. I wasn't referring to an actual brass fitting. A setscrew would not have to be modified to use as a plug, just screw it in and be done.

Re: Vacuum plug
Roadster, I just looked thru an assortment of setscrews I have and found one. If you want it let me know but I'm sure Ace has them.

Re: Vacuum plug
I have a Mallory distributor on my '34 roadster which I bought from Patricks some 18 or 20 years ago. I just plugged the hole in the original brass fitting with a dab of JB Weld and it still works just fine.
