1934 fender repair
HI, Of all the tasks involved in rebuilding our beloved toys, I dread body work the most. I have a rear fender that has the extension that jogs over to the frame mangled pretty badly. Does anyone know of a resource for one of these pieces either NOS or repopped? I hate to think of having to fab one up from scratch. Thanks, Al K

Re: 1934 fender repair
Hey Tom, Thanks for the lead. I will contact him Monday. Hopefully he may have the part, or a good idea.

Re: 1934 fender repair
This is not Rocket science ,Just fold a piece up in a bench vice ,Most of it is hidden under the 1/4 ,Or cut the old one away then fit Fender to the the car ,then slide the new piece in and scribe along for a new cut line ,The lip there is about I" scribe a line then fold ,When you weld make sure they match as a butt joint ,Tack each 1/2 for 2" then dolly it ,Then continue to the end ,then weld fully the same 2" then Dolly ,

Re: 1934 fender repair
Hi all,
I called Donnie Smart, but all he does are passenger car parts, no pickup parts. I will find some 14 or 16 gauge material and do the old bendum myself. I have made other parts this way, but was hoping I could find one already made. Thanks Al K. |
