Default Model A rims

Hi Gents,
One of my rims do not bolt up against the drum as I understand they should. The centre section bolts up, but the outer rim of the wheel hub has about a quarter inch gap from the drum. These are 21 inch rims and they seem to have the same centre section, although this one seems to have a thinner outer edge, hence the gap.
Any suggestions will be much appreciated.

You probably have an early 28 wheel they were narrower than the later ones because there was no emergency brake on the rear wheels. I have to say you live in a beautiful part of the country I enjoyed visiting Cape Town a few years ago.

That rim should not be used on a drum designed to include an emergency brake. There is not the support required with that combination.

Thanks Gents,
You help is much appreciated.
I'll use it as a spare as suggested.

Hi John,
Yes, we are blessed to live in such a beautiful part of the world. Pity I missed you on your last visit, maybe next time.

If, or when, I get down your way I will let you know, I enjoyed the wine country down there quite a bit so perhaps a drive out to the wine country in a Model A would be in order!

I would not use it as a spare.
Instead get another car to match the rim.

I have 5 of those AR wheels/tires/hub caps, ready to go, IF you find that car!
