Default Rear brake levers

Hi Guys,
Can anyone please assist. The rear-brake levers on my RPU are installed with the offset inboard, facing towards each other and the pumpkin. Is this correct or should the offset be outboard, facing to the hubs?
My problem is with them facing each other, the shocks hit on the brake rods. If I turn them around the brake lever might interfere with the emergency brake levers.

I have a 31 Tudor and mine are facing outboard or on the backing plate side. They did not interfere with the emergency rods when I had them assembled.

As Barber 31 said, they face outward, toward the backing plate, but you may have to also swap sides because they angle to follow the frame taper.

Thank you Gents,
They worked fine until I fitted the shocks. Unfortunately, every speed bump caused the shocks to bump down and put a kink in the rods. Slowly but surely the rear brakes got 'better and better' as the rods got shorter and shorter.
Much appreciated guys and thanks for the photo, Mitch
