Selector fork minimum finger width?
Hello. On this 3 speed box I'm rebuilding the fingers of the 2nd/high selector seem pretty sloppy in the synchro sleeve.
Is there a maximum clearance specified? How much clearance is too much? (Same question I suppose). Or is there a minimum thickness for the fingers? Has anyone ever built the pads up with weld or braze? Can you have them too tight? I'm not going to be able to find another 3" fork so more or less have to use the one I have. I'll add some measurements in a bit. Mart. |

Re: Selector fork minimum finger width?
Mart, I would weld it up with hard facing rod , BUT then you have to machine to the right thickness , and the right location, not all on one side.you can make a jig up and spin it in the lathe and machine it there.
