52 window lift channel question
this is for a 1952 Ford F3. I bought this Lift Channel: http://dennis-carpenter.com/door-gla.../7C-8121462-A/
I also ordered this kit:http://dennis-carpenter.com/window-a...7C-8121460-CA/ I also have new glass. I thought it came with what holds the glass in the lift channel. My mistake that it does not. What holds the glass in the lift channel? Or what have any of you used to hold the glass in? Any help in installing these parts would be a great help. I have been searching for how to but no luck so far.

Re: 52 window lift channel question
You need glass setting tape the correct thickness for your application.

Re: 52 window lift channel question
If you are talking about the channel at the bottom of the glass, you use setting tape. the problem is it comes in different widths and more importantly thickness. I take mine to the local auto glass shop who has all the sizes and they will do it for you for a few bucks and it will be right.

Re: 52 window lift channel question
Great advice. I called my local auto glass company. He said he could put it in with setting tape if I wanted but recommended using what is currently used on windows. Urethane window sealer. He said just get it from Autozone and set the window in it. He had done this several times with success.

Just a suggestion, determine where the channel will locate on the glass and put masking tape on the glass for a couple of inches. ( To aid in clean up ) And wear gloves!

Re: 52 window lift channel question
This is some good information I can use in the event I get around to replacing the cracked drivers side window on the 52 Merc. Clear scotch tape is holding it from falling apart for now but I can't open it.

Have never seen a lift channel that is longer than the glass except in a convertible where the glass is enclosed in a frame.
