Funny and nostalgic story, after my dad survived the shrapnel wound to the chest he sent the piece of shrapnel home to his family as a keep sake for when he got back. When he got home he asked where it was and his sister said "That disgusting thing, I threw it out because it had dried blood on it" that story we did get out of him and laughed many times.
