Default 1930 rims

does anyone know if you can replace some of the spokes in a model a rim by cutting out old wire and welding in new wire. Thanks

Why not just pickup a used rim and paint it to match, much easier. I have heard they can be replaced but its a pain..

Yes you can. Typically one uses a salvage rim as a donor for the needed wire for those spokes.

As In most things, it's the fit up that makes the difference. And the method of welding them in. Forget stick welding! So will it be gas, MIG or TIG? I would like TIG best myself. You're going to have two welds per wire. Your fit up needs to be tight to avoid any pulling of the rim. I think it would be easier just to buy a good rim.
