Default downdraft carb

I want to try a down draft carb . I have a two bolt down manifold . I guess I need adapter plate from 3 bolt (strongberg) to two bolt ,manifold . Is there another carb set up that would work with my manifold? steve any help would be great.

I’m not trying to answer your question because I’m sorting it all out for myself as well. I am curious though, do you know what carburetor your manifold was made for?

There is a guy here called Petes Speed Shop, makes a dual downdraught manifold for twin two bolt Holden Stromberg carbs which were common in this neck of the woods. There are probably other 60's 6 cyl Strombergs similar.
Original 97's are rare here.

There was a cast iron strongberg carb on this manifold for 31 nash ,christyler. steve thanks,

Chevy 6's used 2 bolt carburetors for decades and are plentiful.
As a matter of interest, they used to use 5 of them on the Hot Rod GMC's

I have an old aluminum downdraft A intake (not for sale) that came with a downdraft one barrel from a straight six Ford flathead. Haven't tried it yet but looks like a decent improvement from stock. Maybe look for one of those carbs.
