1935 21 Stud engine

Hello everyone,

I am writing from Europe, I have a 1935 Ford Phaeton that I'm restoring and would need to get a complete rebuilt engine for it (a turn key engine).
Could someone recommend me a company or person that can rebuild a complete 1935 engine with warranties and that can export it to Europe?

Any help would be appreciated.

If you could find a rebuildable engine I would think you could get it rebuilt by someone on the island. How about the guys that rebuilt the La Palma in Santa Cruz. I think they had babbitt pouring capabilities and the whole works. There was also a guy running around the Garachico area with a nice 57 Chevy tudor hardtop. I would think any vintage car guy would know who that is, and he might have some ideas.

Are you wanting a correct 35 or a36LB engine? How correct? Original had aluminum heads. These are now very hard to find in usable condition.

I would think that a warranty would be hard to use on a engine from USA — the freight return would probably be more than fixing any problem locally

Fredys - Have you considered joining or reaching out to members of the Early Ford V8 Club of America who live in your area or in a country nearby? I know the EFV8 Club has international members so there may be someone who can help you find an engine in Europe. Just a thought.

I sent him a link to a good used one for sale in France. 3000 Euros.Those Sharp heads (4 yrs old from H&H)alone worth $1500.He took a video of it running before he pulled it.Here is a pic of it.It needs a pressure plate ,starter w:Bendix. He pulled it to install a French Military flathead.

KiWinUS, I would like to get an engine as original as possible to the year of my car, I don't want to restore the car to participate on Concours d'Elegance and I recognize that it can be increasingly complicated both to get a correct engine and mechanics who can repair it.
Iron cylinder heads, is fine too.

If everything checks out, I would consider this the deal of the century. He could always change out the heads when he finds them, and then make a killing selling the Sharp's.

Dear Kurt, perhaps when translating from Spanish to English the meaning has changed, when I speak of guarantee, I mean that it is trustworthy, it is clear that it is not easy to send an engine from the Canary Islands to the USA, so it is even more important that it is trustworthy.

If the local engine doesn’t work out reach out to me. I have been building flatheads for over 50 years and probably have all the necessary parts to build a close to original 35 engine.

My buddy with that engine has a set of cast iron 33,34 heads. If he prefers those I'll switch them out and keep the Sharps.

If you can make it all work out, "kiWi Tony" is the only reasonable choice here. You likely don't have a clue as to Tony's credentials, but they just don't come any better qualified. Tony IS your man!
