Default Tillotson model X carburetor

I’m have problems with my zenith carburetor. I was wondering if the new Tillotson model X carburetor is worth buying several companies are selling new model X carburetors. Jerry

Tillotson is a fine replacement for the Zenith and a lot less fussy when it comes to tuning. Fewer parts, simpler design, rebuild kits are plentiful. I have run Zeniths, Tillotsons, and Marvels. My favorite is the Marvel, but as you said, you can buy a brand new Tillotson, so that's a plus.

Before venturing into new waters, it makes sense to ask .............. "What are the problems with your Zenith carburetor?" Is it the carburetor causing your "problems" or something else. There's are fine lines between Fuel and Ignition issues. I'm not trying to dissuade your purchase of a new Tillotson, but any given advice is only as good as the explanation of what's wrong to begin with.
