The photo was taken in the Ford assembly plant in Berlin, Germany. The truck chassis shown is the 1/2 ton delivery vehicle chassis. It was available in 1930 with either a 28 or 40 horse power engine and at the time cost 2600 Reichsmark.

Here is a photo of the original tri-fold German sales brochure for that vehicle. The chassis in the photo posted by 31Abone is the one in the lower left corner of this brochure:

For what it is worth, here is a photo of the other side of that same tri-fold brochure that shows more truck chassis/body configurations that were available:

This brochure is dated November 1930.

Based on the OEM Ford-Bosch headlight lenses on the vehicle in the photo, the photo was most likely taken in the second half of 1930.

Coupster: nope, not Russian. It is German.

Hope that clarifies the photo and answers your question John.

Fordially,
Brad in Maryland

PS: ....and now a short block of education for our members who apparently did not pay attention in high school: According to Wikipidia, "Kraut is a German word recorded in English from 1918 onwards as a derogatory term for a German, particularly a German soldier during World War I and World War II." 31Abone - both of those wars ended many years ago and now the word kraut is considered offensive slang for a German person.

Thanks Brad
Was that a wood framed cab ? Looks similar to the English AA Ton truck they had wood frame cabs. Looks very Square compared to USA versions.
