Default Nice survivor 1936 Ford coupe with dressed flathead and T-5 **NEW PRICE**

City: Spokane
State: WA
Price: 38k

I am selling this car for my friend Devin. He has owned this car for a few years and put nothing but the best into it. It is a great combination of a very nice original car, awesome stance, plating, and some pretty rare parts. He recently decided to try to buy a car he has been in love with for some time, that is the reason for the sale. He never cut a corner or did anthing half ass.

He started with a very nice original car. It has had one repaint on it. It is VERY strait. It has had the front floors replaced and the very bottom of the quarters behind the doors repaired (just the very bottom of the lower belt line). Otherwise rot free. It has a new top that does not leak a drop, all new glass with opening windshield with new chrome frame and a rear window that rolls down, new window fuzzys, seals, etc. The running boards are new Bob Drake Vulcanized boards, not just glued on covers. Bumper in the back is a new plated one with shortened brackets and nerf bars up front. Jeff Allison striped the back of it a couple years ago. The grill is an extremly nice original with a bull nose. The original matching hood is included, as well as the spare tire cover if wanted.

He had my Dad build him a very nice 1946-1948 59AB with a 4" Merc crank, adjustable lifters, Windfield SU-1A cam, full pressure oiling with beehive filter, chromed generator, fan, timing cover, Fenton headers and original Stromber 97 carbs with chrome scoops. All chrome done by Spokane metal finishing and it was a small fortune in itself for the plating and polishing. Those carbs are fed by a electric pump mounted on the frame with a regulator. The Edelbrock heads are originals as is the Thickstun intake, and both have been professionaly polished. It won "BEST ENGINE" at Billetproof NW. It runs as good as it looks. The transmission is an S-10 five speed located with an Offy adapter. It was completly gone through and shifts great. It has a chromed 39 shifter adapted to it. The rear end is a 1940 Ford that was rebuilt with 3:54 gears. It has an open driveline conversion with a custom built and balanced driveshaft. Between the gears and overdrive it cruises at 80 no problem. I personally drove this car home from Billetproof last summer and it absolutly jingles down the road with little effort and gets very decent milage. It was over 300 miles and it drove flawless, one of the nicest driving flathead cars I have ever driven.

The brakes are completly rebuilt (new shoes, wheels cylinders, dual pot master cylinder, and new drums). The drums have been balanced. The tires are very new Firestone 7.00 16's rear and 5.50 16's front on powdercoated original Ford wheels, 1940 Ford Delux caps and inner and outer trim rings. It has Pete and Jakes shocks on all 4 corners with 1948 Ford rear mounts out back. The front end is a 4" dropped Superbell axle and Posie SuperSlide spring. Front also has a SoCal steering damper. Both front and rear wishbones have been split with locating plates that bolt to the X member. It rides and handles great. The steering box is an original 1937 Ford that was completly rebuilt with a upper column bearing conversion. The original column drop was rebuilt with new chrome trim and works great. Gas tank is brand new. Exhaust is new dual pipes with no mufflers. Sounds great, not too loud but gets the point accross.

The car is 12V and was rewired from scratch with cloth covered wire and wax ties. It has a fuse panel under the dash. Everything works great and all gauges work with the exception of the original oil and temp gauges (has SW oil and temp gauges along with a tach under the dash in an old aluminum MOON type panel). The Speedometer also does not work as the transmission is an electric speedo unit. The wiring is a work of art in itself. It has a working dome light, dash lights, wiper and halogen headlights. The wiring is also made so that, say you want to pull the dash, or the engine, or whatever...there is 3 main plugs that you can simply unplug whatever unit you are wanting to take out and the whole wiring for that section just comes out. No disconnecting a ton of stuff and trying to remember what goes where. A very neat feature.

The interior entales and nice 1939 Deluxe wheel with chromed horn button, chromed waterfall and ashtray, 1949 Ford door and window handles, dash knobs and a nice old 60's black tuck and roll seat and new floor mat. He has an entire panel kit that is new that goes with the car (door panels, kick panels, etc.). The car is very comfortable to drive and nothing is jumbled up or out of place.

He is asking 38K for it and is open to reasonable offers. No trades please as he already has a car in mind he is wanting to buy. He has more then that into it, like I said a lot of money has been put into the car and everything about is is about as nice as you can get. It is very distinctive and well know in this area. He has a free and clear title in his name. Please note the license plate shown on the car is not included with the sale.

If you have any questions, you can call Devin at 509-280-7887 or email him at [email protected]. Of course you can also PM me here too.

Devin has had a lot of serious offers but no buyer yet. This is a VERY nice car with a ton of attention to detail. Devin is wanting to buy this other car, so is getting a little more aggressive on his asking price. He is dropping it to 34K OBO. If you like the car and have a SERIOUS offer give him a call. You could not replicate this car for this price.
