Default Source for Hand Brake Bands?

My ‘37 Model 79 needs new hand brake bands. I’ve got 2 complete brake sets (pairs) but all 4 are in need of being relined or replaced.

Looking at Model 51’s book I see a part number of 51-2609, the green bible doesn’t show a “2609” part number at all, but a “2610” for ‘37 (‘28-‘39)

I’m having no luck finding anything on the net.

Any advice is appreciated. Thanks!

If you have good shoes, they can be lined. Hopefully a member chimes in about a relining service somewhere in the midwest that they had good luck with.

Brake Materials and Parts, Fort Wayne, Indiana can probably reline for you. Also, try Fort Wayne Clutch.

Looks like 2609 is the brake band and lining, 2610 is the brake band and
2620 is the lining.

Good catch!

After you posted I looked deeper into the bibles notes, and I agree, the 2620 is just the lining I think.

My bands have 20 holes/rivets per shoe/band assembly. But the bible says it looks like the 20 rivet ones should have 4 pieces of lining. So I'm confused...again.

I think I'll call the places posted and see what I can find out.

Thanks fellas
