Thumbs up "Blow By" MUCH less! Rings were stickly?

A few guys here may recall my thread asking about excessive blow by from my low mileage '65 352 engine.

After a fresh oil & filter change, with a quart of Risoline added, 300 miles later, the hot engine in drive blow by is greatly reduced. Down to about what I thought it should look like.

I guess the mostly interstate driving and Risoline helped the rings to unstick?

Yes, Rislone and CD2 are similar products. They free up rings and valves and hydraulic lifters. I had a 283 Chev come to the station where I worked at the time, lifters rattling like crazy. I poured in a can of CD2, by the time the can was empty the noise had begun to clear up. After the lady paid, I went back out and the car was quiet.

You really want to blow your dress up, drive it about 1000 miles and change the filter. Then cut the old one open and look in the bottom in the pleats.

I plan on several more frequent than needed oil & filter changes.

Alemite made a couple of oil additives, I recall the CD2 that was as thick as honey. I know they had one to un-sticky things. The trick if not to over medicate an engine, try one thing and give it a while.

I had a customer with a 440 Chrysler wagon come in with a lifter whacking pretty bad. Started pouring in Risolene and half a can in it went quiet and never flared up again.
