Default Spare Tire Cover

Finally getting around to mounting the spare tire cover and realize, now after the cover is painted of course, I never replaced the rubber bumpers which apparently were riveted to the cover.

What did they look like, how thick and can anyone offer a suggestion/work around as I have not seen these in any catalogs?

I guess they are to help center the cover and keep it from moving around once the cover ring is in place.

Thanks, Jim

JFC I'm keen to know about this as well. I don't want to crash this post, but can anybody also shed some light on the covers available for 35. I have both the above type that JFC is talking about and also 1 that does not have the rubbers riveted inside, and only about 1/2 " bigger in diameter , doesn't seem to be enough for a 17" tyre. Also is there an outer tyre cover that suits a 6.50-16 tyre? Mine cannot wrap around the tyre and fit the face plate in? No problems on a 6.00-16.
