I have a carb numbered I32907. Lower body throttle shaft has no plug It is not drilled through and has no plug. Is it 1932?

How about a picture? 32's do not have a auxillary throttle shaft connection on the drivers side of the carb.

The throttle shaft did not go all the way thru on the 32 carbs. The casting was only drilled so far and the hole left blind. I believe the number you have is the build date. 907 would be Sept 7th.

The absence of the drilled-through throttle plate rod hole makes the base a '32 and float bowl cover is also a '32, so it is very likely that the rest of the carburetor is the '32 version as well.

Andy,

With respect, it's September all right, but that's because that's determined by the letter "I", not the partial number "907". All but some super-early '32 V-8 carburetor float bowl covers were stamped with the number 32907. What distinguishes the month of production is the letter preceding those numbers.

Thanks, it has been a while since I thought about the DL's. I remembered there was a code to the build date. Too bad I got nothing right. I try.

These carbs never worked very good for me. If it's a driver change to a 33,34 intake manifold with a Stromberg carb. Just changing these parts and you get something like a 20 HP gain. G.M.
