Default '32 interior paint color??

Our '32 Tudor was black with cream stripe. The interior (not the dash and garnishes) is also black. Is it black because it's body color, or, were all interiors painted black? (Yes, I know I should read the book, but the book is about 4 weeks away.)

Pete, It depends on whether the tudor is a Deluxe model or Standard. The Deluxe models had woodgrained dashes & garnish moldings and the standard models had a medium brown (the name escapes me...Dave will let us know) painted surface on the dash & garnish mouldings.

When you say everything but the dash and garnishes....I'm trying to think what exactly would be painted black. About the only things painted besides the dash and garnish moldings would be the rear view mirror bracket and the steering column. I'm probably missing something here, but it would be something small.

Regards,
Pat

I was talking about everything you see when all the upholstery, garnishes, etc have been removed. Inside surfaces of all the sheet metal, the interior wood, the panels that the rear window regulators mount to, insides of the doors, all that good stuff. Nothing "small."

The body sheet metal of the interior was painted the same color as the main exterior color (black in black cars, green in green cars, etc.).

Pete, you are starting to think like a restorer! A slippery slope to infinities of detail to worry about!
Found the stamps, by the way.
