Re: fuel pump pushrod
You don't really need the numbers...there are exactly 2 lengths for '35-48 USA 221-239 engines and all the parts places carry both. Look at the rear of your manifold and the distance from bottom gasket surface to top of the oval pad where fuel pump stand goes.
If it is very roughly 1" high there, you need the short rod. If roughly 2" tall, you need the longer one. The difference USUALLY corresponds to aluminum (short rod) versus iron in OEM manifolds, including the '36. Lengths are 8.872 and 7.872. |

Re: fuel pump pushrod
Hey Brendan, I just measured two intake manifolds, the aluminum is shorter by one inch, aprox... I think that the pushrods are correspondingly different.... Sac Vintage Ford says alum takes a 7.872", cast iron takes a 8.872"... Karl
Oh well, guess I'm just a bit behind Bruce.... Last edited by Karl Wolf; 06-14-2010 at 03:11 PM. Reason: duplicate info, humor |
